911DA Story: Story

Like millions of other moms, I was just sitting down to enjoy a cup of coffee after the children had boarded the bus. That was my morning ritual; kids up, out the door, a cup of coffee and the Today Show. I remember watching as they cut away to the footage of the first tower that was hit and listening to the news commentators as they tried to make sense of what happened. I remember one saying that there must be a problem at the airport, something wrong with the air traffic control. But we all knew in our gut that no pilot could make such an error. And then the second plane hit and we had to face the fact that we were under attack. As time was marked that day by the other catastrophies, I just remember being numb, but scared. I grieve for all those who were lost that day but I grieve the most for the thousands of children who lost their innocence. I pray this day will make all of us stronger and more grateful for the blessings which God has granted us in this great country. I pray for God's guidance in the days to come.
