911DA Story: Story

The morning of September 11th 2001 I had been on my way to a 9 am class when on the radio in my car I heard of the plain crash into the first tower. I was perplexed as I looked for a parking space. How could this happen? What a terrible error. After parking I began walking towards the Hartline Science building from the hospital lot when I realized I had left a book I needed in my car. Upon arriving back to my car I again turned the radio on in search of more details on the crash only to be mortified by the news of the second crash. Emotion ran through my body like none I have ever experienced in my life. I am again feeling those emotions in the recounting of that day. Anger, disbelief, horror but mostly sadness for those who had parrished and for their family members. I ran from my car to my department's offices and relayed the tragic information to all who was there. I could hardly hold my emotions as I relayed the pieces of information I had gathered from the radio. We then all huddled and watched in disbelief as the towers collapsed. As that day continued and I heard of the Pentagon crash and then of Pennsylvania crash I left the university in search of solitude where I cried like I never had before. I will never forget this. My life will never be the same.
