911DA Story: Story

I had taken my daughter to school and went to work. It was another routine day. Around 7:50 am, a co-worker arrived and told me that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. At first we believed that it was a terrible accident. We turned the radio on to get the latest updates. It was then that we heard a second plane had hit the Trade Center. My heart sank....this was no accident. The horrific news just kept pouring in...the Pentagon had been hit and a fourth plane went down in Pennsylvania....thousands estimated dead. Everyone is the office was silent. We cried and held on to each other.
Later that evening, as I sat holding my daughter, looking at the unimaginable pictures coming across the television, I struggled to find a way to somehow explain all of this to her. But I could not find the words; I did not understand myself. Who could?
Today, one year later, the images are still fresh in my mind and I am no closer to understanding. Innocent people died because they were Americans.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all who lost their lives. May God keep you close and give you comfort.
We will never forget!
