911DA Story: Story

In the serene enviroment of the school library, I sat completing my homework with some of my peers. Then my cell phone rang out disturbing the calm silence. My mom was on the phone and she told me that a plane had just hit the World Trade Center tower. I was shocked but I didn't really come to reality with the situation. I thought about the time just a month before when I went to the top of the World Trade Center. I couldn't believe that a building I was in just a couple of weeks before that had gotten hit by a plane. The buzz was going around school but no one really knew exactly what happened. For some reason that I can't comprehend, they made us turn off all tv's and radios so that we had no idea what was going on. As a result, false rumors started spreading around the school. Everybody was in pure shock around the school and for that matter everywhere in the world. I only found out the true stories of the terror of 9/11 when I returned home from school and I watched the news non-stop. For my generation, this was the event in history that we will never forget where we were such as JFK's assasination and the Challenger exploding for previous generations. September 11, 2001 was probably the hardest and most tradgic day I've ever lived and I send all my prayers to the families who have lost loved ones in this horrible act of terrorism.
