911DA Story: Story

My father is an Independent Duty Corpsman in the Navy, and was based at the navy annex about 100 yards west of the pentagon. When the plane came in to hit the pentagon, he was watching on the news for information on the World Trade Center attacks. As soon as the plane passed by, he was on his way down to the pentagon. The Navy Annex clinic was the first group to set up triage for the disaster. as people came in, My dad was the first to treat them.
I was en route to my 5th period classwhen I heard something was wrong. I had a headache, so I stopped by the clinic in the building for some Motrin. while I was listening to the radio, I heard something about shutting down the government buildings in richmond, and I concluded that there was a bombing down there. It wasn't until I got into 5th period that I found out that the World trade enter and the Pentagon had been atcked with commercial aircraft.
I didn't see my dad until about 11:30 that night, and that was only long enough for him to say, "hi, I'm leaving for New York, and I don't know when I'll be back". We didn't see him for another week. He was on The UHS Comfort aiding in the recovery efforts at the world trade center. HE recived the bronze star for his work on that day. I recieved two weeks of school lockdown and another week of terror.
