911DA Story: Story
This is a poem I wrote about September 11th, I would like to share it with your archive.
September 11th, 2001
8:00 am America stood divided.
Republicans welcomed George W. Bush's presidency.
Democrats felt Al Gore was robbed of our nation's highest office.
Although President Bush had celebrated a hundred days in office, some residents of Florida were demanding a recount of ballots.
On the subway,
Afro-Americans, Latino-Americans and Caucasian Americans sat next to Native Americans.
Wall street was a busy workplace,
And fans of Aallyah mourned her death.
12:00 noon America stood united
Congressmen equally supported President Bush.
Chad and dimple ballots were forgotten.
Prefixes to American faded.
The Stocket Market closed down.
And our nation mourned thousands of deaths.
