911DA Story: Story

I learned of the attacks on my way to class. I was wearing a set of earphones and was watching is people rushed into academic buildings. Being a freshman college student, I thought this was normal. A few minutes later I learned that September 11 would be anything but a normal day. I walked into my college's Communications Building and looked at the sight of both Twin Towers burning. A started to ask questions, but no one knew what was happening. I went down the hall to my classroom, and found my class watching coverage of the WTC. My teacher then shut the tv off stating that if anything important were to happen someone would let us know. That was at 9:25 in the morning. As class ended at 10:45 we learned of the attack on the Pentagon, the plane crash in Western PA, the collapse of the Twin Towers, and (erroneously) of car bombs going off at the State Department in Washington. All through the day, people walked around in stunned silence. What had been an upbeat, happy college campus only a day before was now a scared part of America.
