911DA Story: Story
I was a freshman in high school. I was on my way to school when around 0630 hours i turned on my little pocket radio and heard he news. At first I thought that it was just a sick joke that the radio dj's were playing. As I listened longer, I realized that it was no joke, the World Trade Center Buildings had just been struck by two hi-jacked aircrafts. Later, it was reported that another plane had crashed into the pentagon and one more was headed for Camp David in Pennsylvania. I was devistated. the whole day I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I could not believe that my country, the greatest country in the world was attacked by a "faceless coward". I was beyond mad; I was downright LIVID. I cried all day and night; I went for a whole week of no sleep, just watching tv all day and night, falling asleep in school because of no rest. My mother finally made me go to bed and knocked me out with some heavy sleeping pills just to get me to sleep. September 11th was a tragic day that I will never forget. Over 3,000 people died, not including the hi-jackers. That is not something that anyone one could ever forget. I know that when I learned about the attack of Pearl Harbor, I was in awe, but I never could quite get the whole effect enless I lived through it;needless to say, I did live through it. I know that future generations wont get the whole effect of it either, just like i didn't, but for my generation and my mother's generation, and my grandmother's generation will never forget it until the day we die. After we are deciesed it will be the same..."September 11th was a bad day". But i know for a fact, it was more than just a bad day.
