911DA Story: Story

I was working as a Networking Specialist in the local school system. My office was in the media center of the elementary school. I received a phone call from a friend that worked at a local branch of the national government agency telling me that a plane had just crashed into the WTC. I immediately turned on CNN. Seconds later, I remember seeing the other plane crash into the second tower. All I remember is thinking that I wanted to pick my son up from daycare and hold him in my arms. I wanted to speak to my best friend and make sure he was alright. I wanted to call my mom to tell her that I loved her. I didn't know anyone personally that lost their lives in the attacks, but I still felt a great loss. I mourned for the fallen and their families. I cried with them and my heart shattered. I have yet to come to terms with this tragedy and I have yet to find a way to cope. My heart still aches for the victims and their families. I will never forget.
