911DA Story: Story

I was sitting in class, working on Math along with everyone
else in the room. It was just another day of school. The
principal's voice came over the loudspeaker, but we all just
figured it was a routine announcement. Were we ever wrong!
He announced that a plane had just crashed head on into the
Pentagon and two other planes had flown directly into the
twin towers sending them crashing to the ground. It all
seemed unreal. He asked anyone who had parents working at
the Pentagon to report to the office. Everyone was in a
sense of terror, panic, and disbelief. I know for me, it
was more disbelief. How could this be happening on just a
typical September school day? Why today? Everyone was on
their cell phones or in line at the office phone attempting
to contact their parents, friends, or relatives. There was a
sense of urgency to find out if they had been directly
affected. Luckily no one in my family was a victim of this
terrorism, but several people I know lost loved ones. It
was a day no one will ever forget, a day to go down in
history, September 11, 2001.
