Chelsea Piers - makeshift hospital - That is "mom" from the NYPD in the lower right hand corner with the ponytail. She did a great job coordinating and preparing everyone for the worst.

This was taken from 36th Street and Fifth Avenue, facing south. They were always just at the end of the horizon, complimenting the shapes around them and making the city feel a little futuristic.

Reagan National Airport was totally empty on 9.18.01. I caught this image through a fence - it seemed eery and an appropriate visual metaphor for the airport.

Pentagon. This picture was taken from my office on Penn. Ave., in Washington, DC. If you look
above the Pentagon, you can see a heliocopter flying above it.

At the entry to the site of the WTC near Water Street a check point was being set up. No one could pass without a respirator, glasses or hard hat. These city workers were decorating the entry point with a flag. September 2001.

This picture was taken on Sept 15, 2001. This was the first time that I really saw what had happened in person. That is when it hit home for me.
