U.S. Navy Hospital Ship "Comfort" on Chesapeake Bay, September 12, 2001.

This image was captured approximately two weeks after the events of the eleventh. Two officers are manning a checkpoint below Canal Street.

The photograph was taken in Feb. 1978. A mere 7 years after the towers opened.

Taken on the West Side Drive just a few days after 9/11, as rescue/work crews went to the scene. People gathered to applaud and hold up signs as trucks and busloads of people went to the scene. It was very moving...all these cold NY'ers saying…
