911DA Story: Story
It was my freshmen year in High School. School had just started so I was figuring out how to adjust to the place. I was walking into my 2nd period Social Studies class like it was just a regular day. Everyone was sitting in class feeling the same way I was. The bell rang and the teacher wasn't there. About five minutes later, our teacher came into class and told us that a plane hit the World Trade Center. None of us have ever experienced a tragedy like this before. All of us being 14 and 15 year old kids weren't exactly sure how to deal with this. A lot of people cried. A lot of people were very somber. I myself had no idea what to think. I was glued to either the TV or the radio all day. Then came the crash into the Pentagon. Then came the crash that could have killed many people at our capital, but was foiled thanks to the brave souls aboard United Flight 93.
Five years later and I find myself still feeling like it all happened yesterday. 9/11 not only changed us as induviduals, but as a nation. I will always remember, and I hope you will too.
