911DA Story: Story
September 11, 2001 is a day I'll never forget-ever. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. I was at work and I had no immediate knowledge that anything besides the ordinary was going on. Then a co-worker came by my machine and told me that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. He didn't know what was going on, he had heard it from another employee.I remember thinking, how could anybody possibly hit something like that without meaning to, and yet it really didn't dawn on me that it was anything but an accident. Then when I found out about the second plane hitting, I thought, Oh my God. There was no doubt in my mind then as to what was happening. It was a very scary day. I know that day I thanked God that I didn't live in a big city, and I prayed constantly for those who did. I couldn't wait to leave work that day and find out what was going on for myself. When I finally got home, my husband was sitting in front of the t.v. and I joined him. We spent the rest of the evening there breaking away only long enough to bathe and grab a bite to eat.The devastation was horrible as is the man responsible for it. We've spent a lot of time deciding what should be done to this man. I don't believe there is a punishment befitting this crime. However; I cling to one verse in the Bible. Romans 12;19 ..."Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." I can only imagine the pain and agony that these people went through. I hope I never have to see such pain and destruction again in my lifetime.
