911DA Story: Story
I could smell delicious homemade waffles. It was weird because usually my mom doesn't have the news on down stairs when she is making breakfast. Then I looked at the tv, the twin towers were on fire, and a plane was crashed in it! At first I thought it was on big deal, an accident of some sort.
I just went about my day as usual. By 6:30, it was time to head out for the bus. Everyone at my bus stop was talking about what had happened earlier this morning. I wondered if all these people really watch the news.
When we arrived at school what happened was what everyone was talking about! In some of my classes we watched the news. I still didn't think that terrists were attacking America.
After school my family was only watching the news. Not that many real tv shows were on. I wasn't really that scared when I found out the plane crash wasn't an accident. I didn't know what to think of it. My friends and I thought that maybe we wouldn't have to go to school, but we did.
For the rest of the week my friends were hoping and I was praying that nothing would happen here in California. We realized that when we have kids, in social studies they will learn about September 11, 2001, and we'll tell them that we were in 6th grade then and they will probably say, "WOW!! mom you are old!!! If you were around then!"
