911DA Story: Story
I was working at the time of the September 11th attacks. I was fortunate enough to work at a store owned by a friend of mine and I was allowed to watch television while on the job. I remember watching television and a special report was broadcasted. It told of a plane crashing into one of the buildings of the World Trade Center. Reports were sketchy at that time and I was led to believe it was a small plane and I instantly thought it must of been an accident. Visions of a pilot having a heart attack while flying the plane flooded into my head. But then the second plane struck the other tower. All I could think of was my daughter at home and how I wanted so badly to be with her. Then the reports started telling of hits on the pentagon and another plane down in a field. I just screamed,"What the hell is going on?" I called my house to speak to my daughter. I literally thought we were under attack and that it was the end of the world! I literally started crying at work in front of all of my customers, but they were very understanding. When the towers fell, I think I cried the hardest then. When I got out of work I went home, hugged my daughter, and did what most Americans did; I watched the television for hours and days on end. I also cried alot and hugged my daughter and husband much tighter than I ever have before. May God Bless everyone!
