911DA Story: Story

I remember sitting at my desk, we happened to have the television on in our breakroom broadcasting Good Morning America when the first plane hit. I rushed in to see the smoke and devistation to the tower. I immediately ran back to my desk to call my husband. Not getting an answer on his office phone, I called his cell phone. When he answered he explained that he was on a conference call on the other line; he had no idea what was going on. I told him what had happened and while we were on the phone, the second plane hit. He went onto the conference call and alerted all on the call what was happening.

When the second plane hit, I felt like someone had taken all the breath from my body. I cried, and still do. I think I understand better how my parents felt during Pearl Harbor and the Kennedy assassination. I had hoped I'd never experience anything like the events from my parents and granparents era, but I guess no generation is immune to the fanatics, zealots and mislead throughout the world.
