I was just about to turn off the TV to go shopping when I saw the first plane hit the WTC. Within seconds, my friend Lisa called from her cell phone. She was so upset that I could hardly understand her. She told me her husband Jim was at the WTC working that day on 72nd floor! My heart sank, but I knew I needed to be strong for her. I raced up the street ot her house, and we both were shocked at the horror of which we saw on TV. We tried to call, but all the circuts were busy ,cells, mine & hers. I put coffee on and then the second plane hit. I was hugging her, and we were both crying at the sights we saw, she crumpled onto the floor..still not knowing where her husband was. Finally after three hours of sheer terror Jim called to say he got out O.K. It was truely a miracle!! He should not have made it, according to all he went through while climbing down 70 plus stairs. His story is one of the many lucky ones I'm sure. That day has bonded Lisa & I even more.. It was something neither of us would ever want to happen again, nor would we change one thing. God smiled on Jim Wardle that day & I feel so blessed to have ben able to be there for my dear friend. God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!
