<text>My senior year of Seton Hall University was beginning and I remember getting ready for my first class of the day. My alarm went off, with the radio turning on, and as I got ready they were talking about a plane crashing into the WTC... My roommate was coming back from his morning class and we turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane.
Everything kind of became a fog from there... I didn't go to class, school was closed at some point during the day, we just stayed in front of the TV all day kind of in disbelief with what was happening.
We went to a park park that had an overlook onto the city... we could see the smoke coming from ground zero, but I think they closed the park at some point because of traffic and safety concerns so we returned home and just sat in front of the TV barely talking to each other.
We had friends that had graduated that worked in the city and had to walk back from the city and that was the extent of my connection to what happened at the time. Since then I've learned my wife's best friend worked in one of the towers, but was running late to work and was luckily not inside and other people I've come to know had friends and family who were first responders or worked at the towers.
In a lot of ways I feel that as more time passes, the memories of that day get closer as I learn of more connections to those affected. </text>
