Robert Bauer's son, Nathan, worked on the 52nd floor of 1 WTC--luckily, he was stuck in the subway the morning of 9/11. Bauer's daughter, Emilia, was in her NYU dorm with a view of the WTC. In response to the attacks, Bauer, who lives in Maine, wrote a poem about climbing mountains.
