My husband was in Calif. on business and I had just gotten our youngest son off to school. It was my day off so I poured a cup of coffee and climbed back into bed to watch the Today show. I was so relaxed and then the world came crashing in! At first it was reported as an accident and I remember thinking "that's terrible". I called my husband to tell him what had happened since I knew he wouldn't hear about it for a couple more hours. We were talking when the other tower was hit.. I saw it AS IT HAPPENED!!! It shook me up so badly I just started crying. Next the news showed the Pentagon had been hit. And then the worst happened, the towers began to fall. My God, the devastation!! I will NEVER forget the feeling, like someone had grabbed my heart in their hand and began to squeeze. It is a day I will remember for the rest of my life and every time I think about it I cry all over again. It has changed all of our lives more than I would have ever thought possible. I will never, ever, take the blessing of life and love for granted again.
