911DA Story: Story
We were just getting up and I was listening to the radio. I just caught phrases of a plane hitting the world trade center and decided to turn on the television.
As we watched the images drawing us closer and closer to the horror of the collapse, I was weighing whether to call co-workers. Eventually we all made it to work and spent the day
with one eye on the TV and trying to be normal. What I remember most was how quiet it was and how tenderly people were treating each other. It was as if we all
knew the saddness just under the surface and were respectful of each others grieving. The quiet resulting from no air travel and the slower pace of life did give us time to
reflect.
