911DA Story: Story

I was taking computer classes in the morning of September 11th at the AT&T ACUS Building in Ann Arbor, MI. When I was on break, I saw my coworkers crying and running. They were gathering in the All Purpose Room to hear the news of the first airplane that hit the first tower of the World Trade Center. I made my way to the room just when the second airplane hit the towers. When in a short time, we heard that the Pentagon had been hit. We knew that this a terrorist hit on our country.

The next day, 48 of us were permanently laid off.

Within a few days, we all gave to the Red Cross Refief Fund knowing that the little bit that we could do would assist in getting help to those sites. Our hearts full of sorrow and yet grateful that we were working at AT&T in Ann Arbor, MI and not at the World Trade Center or the Pentagon. Knowing that most of us would be loosing our jobs soon yet knowing that we would still come home to our families. Our fallen heros would not be coming home again......
