911DA Story: Story
I was getting ready for class and I had the radio turned on. I heard what had happened with the first plane, and I ran into my living room to turn on the news. As I turned on the television, I saw the second plane hit the second tower. I had called my bopyfriend (now my husband) to tell him to hurry and turn on the television. He was in shock just like I was. In my mind, I was thinking that we were all going to have a hard time with what just happened...I knew that we were under attack and it was like living in a bad nightmare. I finished getting for class, and I listened to the President on the way there, and the parking lots were full of students, and as soon I was walked in, the whole class was in total shock. It felt like someone had lost someone. It was very surreal! We had the radio turned on, and we listened as the events took place one right after another. When the towers collapsed, we were more horrified. There was no telling how many would lose their lives. They cancelled classes for the rest of the day, and with having 8,000 people in my college...it took about an hour to get out of the parking lot. One thing beautiful about the day was when all the planes were landing at the airport right next to our school...it was beautiful to see the airplanes up close, but then you realize that everyone on earth was affected in some way. I got home and took a nap...but it was like waking up to reoccuring nightmare. After looking over the events in the next couple of weeks, I realized that my boyfriend and I were meant to be and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We have been married since August 10, 2002. September 11th will remain in our hearts forever.
