When the attacks of September 11th occured, I had just came into my homeroom class at Oakwood High School. I was a senior. Just as I walked into the door, I saw the second plane hit the towers. I said "My God! What's going on?" Everyone in the class was in shock. A few kids who had relatives in New York were crying. They didn't know if their families were alright or not. School was dismissed early so we could go home to our families. The only thing I did all day was watch the news, and pray that everything would turn out alright. A few months later, I wrote a poem in memory of the 9/11 victims. I read it at my graduation.
