911DA Story: Story

I was close to the Oklahoma City bombing and after 9/11 and watching Diane Sawyers last night on Primetime I wrote this song for those that lost.

THAT ONE DAY IN SEPTEMBER
BY B. GAIL SEYMOUR
COPYWRITE PENDING

My eyes fluttered opened
As he pulled me from the rubble
Wonder if he knew
I was watching my world tumble
I can give the world a song
But cannot look upon my lover
I can gaze upon the heavens
And roll around in the clover
Cause that one day in September
Changed my life forever
Took away the crystal clear
And replaced it with the somber
When will the tears finally dry
And be replaced with the laughter
God... please help me to recover
Oh God... please help me to recover

It's funny, I can jump a plane to Vegas
Or ride a donkey through the canyon,
I can wake up every morning
But have no understanding...

Give a bright smile upon demand
But I didn't go with the others
Left behind with a damaged heart
And the world upon my shoulders..

Because of that one day in September
that changed my life forever
took away the crystal clear
And replaced it with the somber
When will the tears finally dry
And be replaced with the laughter
God..please help me recover...
Oh God, please help me recover...

I finally looked upon his fce
The one that I lived for
I might wake up tomorrow
But without his woarm embrace...

I waited desperately everyday
For that final closure
Then it occurred to me
that over,,, isn't really over...

Because that one day in September
That changed my life forever
Took away the crystal clear
And replaced it with the somber..
the tears are finally drying
I catch myself slightly smiling..
Over those precious moments
They did not steal away...

I am getting better everyday
At hiding the soul deep pain..
Please God lay your hands upon me
Please bless those we can not see..
But God, Dear God,,, please help me to recover
Oh God,,, I pray, please help us recover....

From me to all of those who lost..
And those of us whom lost by your loss...
My prayers are with you. Gail
