Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: September 11th is a day that i am positive will be forged into my memory forever. My family and i had just moved to Sterling Virginia 2 months previous because my father had accepted a job at the Pentagon. We were all reeling from the shocks of moving three thousand miles away from everything that we had grown accustomed while living in Washington State. On the morning of September 11th, it was like any other day. We were all rushing around trying to get ready for work and school. My dad rushed out of the house first, his Supervisor from his old job was flying into Dulles later that morning and he wanted to make sure that everything was up to par. I took my time and was almost late to school, but it was history, so i kinda brushed it away. I was sitting in Geometry class when our principal came over the announcements and told us about the plane hitting the first tower. As horrible as this sounds, i really didnt know what was going on, so i just kinda went along with the lesson. A few minutes later the principal chimed in again and told us that another plane had hit another tower. i was really beginning to get scared at that point because i had no idea what was going to happen next. Unfortionatly though, the next thing that i heard was that the pentagon had been hit. That was it for me. i felt as if the room was spinning. I began shaking and tears began streaming down my face. my teacher just kept going on with the lesson, completely oblivious as to what was happening. My school was put into a lock down, and i was in a portable trailer, detached from the entire school. The more i sat there, the more that i began to panick. i began invisioning my father dying and that thought scared me more than anything else. Finally, we were permitted to go to our next class, and i got to see some of the footage of the pentagon and the feeling came back when i saw that the plane had it the same section of where my fathers office was. I got up, walked out of class and just sat in the office, waiting for a phone to open up. FInally at around noon, i got ahold of my mother, who told me that my dads boss was alright and my dad had gotten to the pentagon and found out that he had a meeting that day that he didnt know about.
