911DA Story: Story
I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was at my best friends house, where I went every morning. We would take the children to school and go back to her house. We always watched our favorite talk show then get into what ever craft we were doing at that time. That day we were going to start on Halloween projects. After getting her 4 year old breakfast we were just gonna put on some cartoons for her to watch so we could get started on our projects. The cartoons never made it on her tv that day. When the tv came on we could not believe what we saw.A plane had just crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center! At first we were thinking "oh my God how awful for them people wonder what happened to the pilot."we just thought it was a freak accident. Then just a little while later we watched in horror as another plane came straight for the other tower. We were glued to the tv that day, watching as they told about the other 2 planes.I Think the worst part of that day was not knowing when or where or if it was gonna happen again..But worse than that was setting there watching as the buildngs began to fall knowing there was nothing you could do.I wanted to reach in the tv and start pulling people out of the way most of them didn't even realize what was happening until their world went black. It was the eeriest thing,New York city was competely invisable and silent! It is something i will never forget and hope I never have to lve through again.Needless to say the Halloween projects didn't get started for a week or so.Instead we started the next day making patriotic thing. We painted flags and eagles and clothes for the kids to wear...I think it brought us closer together.I have always been taught that something good comes out of everything so i always try to look for the good...not only did it bring my friend and I closer it also seemed to bring all the nation together. We all need to just remember every day of our lives to tell all our friends and family how much they mean to us beause we never know when the last time you see them may really be the last time you see them.
