i was going to school at st. stephens and i had photography for my first period class. The teacher wasnt there yet, so i decided to drive across the street and get something to drink. I had just bought some pina colada tea and i turned around and saw the first tower on tv with fire coming out of it. It took me a while to register that the world trade center was on fire, then i heard the comentator talking about how a plane had crashed into the world trade center and it might be terrorism. Then the second plane crashed into and it became certain that it was terrorism. I couldnt believe it. I kinda always thought of terrorism as something that happens in movies like delta force and stuff like that. My friend and I drove back over to school and told everyone that both world trade buildings had been hit by planes. Nobody believed me at first. Then we all went to chapel after first period and the chapline told everyone that the country is under attack and that the first tower had already fallen and that the pentagon had been attacked as well. After chapel we all went to class as usual, but nobody did anything but watch the crisis unfold on tv. I went to the student center and as i walked into the tv room I saw the second tower fall and about half the room was crying and the other half had their heads buried in their hands. One of my friends from the tennis academy was from ny and both of his parents still live there. He didnt really talk to anybody for about a week or two and i only saw him once that day. He told me about how he couldnt get a hold of his parents because the entire united states was trying to call ny and there simply wasnt enough room for his call to be transfered.
