911DA Story: Story
I remember the day as if it was yesterday. A coworker claimed that there had been an accident at the WTC and a plane had hit the building. I didn't believe him. Little did I suspect the chaos and terror that would surface in the next few hours and next few days. My only thoughts were in making sure that my family ws safe and letting them know that I was. On my way home, I could see the cloud where the buildings had been and could here sirens from all over. As I approached my apartmen (then located in Newark, NJ), every single street corner had police officers stationed on them. Most of the emergency equipment from NJ passed through Newark that day. In the days following the terror attacks, it seemed as though people were a little more sympathetic to each other. I hope that this is one thing we can take away from this tragedy. I also hope that we all learn to be grateful for what we have for as long as we are here. God bless the victims and their families and GOD BLESS AMERICA! They will not beat us!
