Tell us your story: I had to see my attorneys on Broadway in NYC that morning,only a short distance away from the world Trade center.I would have been in the city at about 8:00 am. I decided on the last moment to cancel and see my orthopedic surgeon instead. As I waited to be picked up my neice yelled out,"Aunty G look at the tv, a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center. I was stunned, I ran to the tv and saw the building ablaze, heard the reporting and asked how could this be? what is that airplane doing flying in the no fly zone? My question was to be answered immediately. As we looked at the tv, another plane zoomed right into the WTC. I did not know that it was a terrorist attack, but I was certain that that was no normal accident and I told my family this. I said " God this is World War 111. I was in shock.I had family and relatives on flights and working in the vicinity of the WTC, I was scared stiff.My own children was to have flown on that day and I deciced to leave their flight on the original date. I was grateful that I had decided to cancel my appointment in the city. My heart goes out to the thousands of innocent victims, their families, children who lost parents, parents who lost children, lost businesses, investments and livelihoods.To the many brave servicemen and women, volunteers and all those who selflessly gave of themselves, their time and resources, I say thank you and god bless. to the then Mayor Mr.Guiliani, Govenor Pataki, Senators Schumer and Clinton for being there for those who were so tremendously affected by this chilling event.
