911DA Story: Story

As most have said it all started out as a normal day, I woke up late, jumped in the shower, threw on some clothes and went to school. I was sitting in Mr. Corcoran?s second period English class when one of the janitors walked in and told Mr. Corcoran that the World Trade Center had just been hit. He turned on the television and we all watched in amazement, even though I really didn?t understand what was going on and how bad it was.
Amanda, my best friend and I walked together and there watched it on TV too. We kind of just ignored it though, because we didn?t know the seriousness of it. All that I cared about was getting out of school early, even though we didn?t.
I got home that afternoon and went to the basement where my mom stared blankly at the television, I just acted like nothing was wrong. She explained the seriousness of it to me so now I understand.
I guess that is was just like a movie to me, and I think that that is how it has always been. I do not want to sound like I?m ungrateful for all of the people who helped us out because I am very grateful, and I do mourn with those who lost loved ones and friends. I guess that that day my mind just couldn't comprehend what damage it did to our nation.
