911DA Story: Story

It was lunchtime in our area... I walked back from my lunchbreak past the TV in the canteen, my eyes flickered over the TV and carried on towards the door, some kind of daft sci-fi/disaster type film.... I looked again and couldn't believe what I was seeing, I saw the second plane hit then live on whatever American news cover we were seeing courtesy of the BBC or ITV.... I remember going back to my desk (after another cigarette and a hug from my man of the time who luckily was in the same building as me) and no-one upstairs knew what was going on, I told them to go down and look, the phones didn't ring that afternoon, apart from people trying to access news sites on the 'net and not able to (I work in an ISP).... it was too horrible to digest.... driving home after picking up my baby from her childminders, I remember listening to some crappy UK sports radio show who just talked about what was happening and what it might mean for us all, the fear of terror alerts the world over, I remember being so very sad, so very scared and so very not wanting my daughter to ever have to experience that type of day ever, ever..... I did what everyone else did for the next few days, watched Sky, CNN, BBC etc and wept for the souls lost, and for the state of the world.

Let us not ever forget xxx
