I was almost 9 months pregnant when the events of 9/11 unfolded. Home waiting for my father to show up with coffee, my sister-n-law called to ask if I was watching tv. I frantically spent the next hour or so trying to get a hold of my husband at work. My father and I sat here for hours just watching everything in disbelief. I couldn't believe I was about to have a baby and here I was thinking this is it. Next month my son will be a year old. I have saved what I could of the events that happened so close to his birth. My hope is some day, while living in peace with everyone, my son will pull the stuff I put away for him and see how far we've come as a people. A people of One.
