911DA Story: Story
First I heard on the news that there was a fire at the pentagon. Initally, I did not know that the fire was due to a terroist attack. As I continued to watch the morning news a feeling of "this can't be real" overcame me when I saw the footage about the Twin Towers. I have to admit I was quite concerned
about the people in New York, and how the students at Cheney High School were going to react. (I work at the high school, and a large segment of our student population are families attached the Fairchild Airforce Base.)
Even during times of despair/sadness humans are capable of pulling together. Our students supported each other and the faculty during the entire day. When fathers and mothers were being shipped out, students would support each other. It was uplifting that during a time a despair for our country, the youth at
our school did what they could to support each other and to remind us that life does go on.
