911DA Story: Story
I was at work watching the T.V. in the break room when I heard and saw what happened. I couldn't believe it. Thousands of innocent people dead and the NY Skyline changed forever! I was stunned all day. I got into my car at the end of the day and sobbed for a good half hour.
When I was driving home to my other job (dance teacher for my mom's studio; Ceil Sharon School of Dance)I tried to compose myself so I would be strong for my students. I walked into the studio, and said "ok, we ready to dance?". One of the girls approached me and said "isn't it sad what happened today?". I lost it again. I couldn't believe that this innocent 13 year old was so touched. She wasn't acting selfishly like most teens I know, but rather she was concerned and not interested in dancing at the time. Soon after the other children piped up with their feelings. The class turned into a discussion of 9/11...I will never forget that day.
