I was engaging in the American Dream when our little corner of the world came crashing down in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. My husband and I were in the process of buying our dream home after moving to Kentucky from Maryland. I prayed. I prayed like I had not prayed in years for the lives of all those innocent people and for the safety of all those heroic people who rushed to those terrible scenes of devastation to help in rescue attempts. Acts of courage and strength showed the rest of the world that even in our worst hour, Americans join together to stand united as one.
