911DA Story: Story

I was starting a new job that day, and we had orientation first thing in the morning. While I was waiting for orientation to begin, another new employee came in the lunchroom and told us that "someone is attacking the WTC and the Pentagon." Now, as shocking as the news was, there was no television at this company, so we had to go by just what the radio stations were telling everyone. We listened to the radio all day, and once the day was over, I drove to get my husband at work. I continued to listen to the radio, and I started crying because of all the horror of the tragedy, yet neither my husband or I had yet to actually see the images of what happened. Once we arrived home, we immediately turned the TV onto CNN. I just stood still for what seemed like an eternity, yet, it was only a few minutes. The most terrifying image of that day was watching the coverage of people jumping from the WTC. That was what made me cry, scream and become furious that someone could do this to us, all in the name of a "religion????" My heart goes out to all the families of the victims and to all the heroes who survived and who sacrificed their lives to save others. I will always remember 9/11 and those who died will not have died in vain. America will win the war on terrorism, and we will prevail.
