Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at work listening to the local radio station. Right in the middle of a song, the dj cut in and said "I have just received word that a plane has struck the World Trade Center." I was like Oh My God. I went down front and told the counter girls to turn on the TV, a plane had just hit the World Trade Center. Darcy was like, you're kidding right. I said no SERIOUS, turn on the tv. On CNN they had live footage of the smoking tower. I was feeling really sad and scared. As the newscasters were showing footage and talking, another plane came and hit the second tower. I started to cry. I was so sad I felt NUMB. It seemed as if we were watching scenes from a movie, but it had really happened. I went back to my work area, and listened to the radio broadcast, they went to live feed from one of the news stations on tv. I kept crying and thinking Oh My God. Then when they announced that a plane had hit the pentagon, and one had crashed in Penyslvania field, under the assumption that plane was headed for the White House. TERRORIST.... HOLY SHIT...... I felt the need to just go get my children from school and hug them and hold them tight. After getting my children, I just talked with them, hugged them and kissed them and held them and asked them to say prayers for the victims and their families. I couldn't sleep that night, just thinking of the tragedy that had occured and couldn't help but think what else would these evil people do. I was so afraid. In closing I would like to say that every night in my prayers I ask that God be with the victims, their families and loved ones as well as to be with the police, firefighters, and everyone who helped to save people after this horrific series of attacks occured. I also ask God to please give us strength to live our lives without the fear of terror.
