911DA Story: Story

On the morning of 9/11/01, just after the second plane had hit the World Trade Center, I was rushed to Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Lansdowne, PA. I was diagnosed with Meningitis, along with Chicken Pox (something I did not have as a child). I had a very high fever and my vital sounds were extremely high. Needless to say, time was running out for me.

I am very grateful to the Doctors and Nurses at Delaware County Memorial Hospital (Lansdowne) for saving my life. I am also grateful to my daughter Pamela for encouraging me to have the Spinal Tap (which I was totally against), without having the procedure performed, the doctor informed me that it could be fatal. I also thank my brother Michael, who came to my rescue, despite the heavy traffic that morning he had to battle just to get to me.

If I had not gone to the Emergency Room on 9/11/01, I would not be alive today to share my story. So today (9/11/02), I celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I am deeply saddened for those that lost their lives that day.
