I was a freshman in college. In the morning I had choir rehearsal and we were supposed to sing in chapel that morning after rehearsal. We headed over to the chapel and we could hear people talking about a plane crash. Nobody really knew and we didn't really think it was as huge as it was. In chapel the president of our university came up and told everyone what had happened. He cancelled classes for the rest of the day and they had the news playing on the large screen all day in the auditorium. People just kind of stopped their everyday normal life and were glued to the news.
