Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I remember my son who is in the Coast Guard and was stationed at Marblehead,Ohio on Lake Erie, calling me to ask us if we had heard what had happen. Instanly I turned on the TV and there it was the World Trade Towers burning and smoking. I watched in horror as the second plane hit the second building. I asked my son if he were okay and what this meant for him. He explained that they were on High alert and what ever he was asked to do he would do it. I said good-by and that I loved him. Then I sat and watched as the days events unfolded, the pentagon, and then the plane in Pennsylvania, and I cried. I cried for all the people that I knew were dead, I cried for their families, I ached inside for the American people and wondered how it would effect all of us. I hurt inside for the man who was President, not even in office a year and faceing the greatest challenge any President had had to face. And I grew angry. So very angry. How could any one plan the mass destruction of so many people, cause so much hurt and pain to all the people of America. For the first time in my life I honestly fealt that I could have killed someone, the someone who had done so much hurt. Time has passed, the anniversary of 9/11 is upon us. My heart swells with pride. The terror and devastation of a year ago will never be forgotten. The terrorist who tried to ruin are country and attacked the whole world have done something that they never imagined. They united the world as one. My hope and pray is that from this we will continue to grow as a race of beings who can and will accept all and any for who they are and what they are, no prejudice, no more oppression, no more wars. Someda, many, many years from now we will look back to September 11th 2001 as the day the human race begin it's climb towards World Peace. It will be a long road, filled with pain and more suffering, but we will get there. I have seen more love and courage in this last year then in my entire lifetime. I am proud of my Son and his courage in wanting to protect his country and the world. 9/11 changed us all, not just the people in New York, the Pentagon or Pennsylvannia but all of us.
