Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I have read some of the stories posted on this site and my heart is breaking all over again. True I was nowhere near New York, The Pentagon, or in the field in Pennsylvania but my soul was tortured just the same. My husband is in the army and selfishly all I could think of was he would have to go away. I was getting our youngest daughter ready for a play day at church when the phone rang. It was my husband. He told my to turn on the tv. I asked him what was wrong and he said a plane had hit WTC. My first thought was that it was just an accident. I went ahead and took my daughter to church and was about to go shopping when it was announced over the radio that the second tower had been hit. I got what I needed at the store and got my youngest child then stopped by my oldest daughter's school and picked her up, there were no questions asked as to why I wanted her home. I came home and turned on the tv and cried the rest of the day. As I said my husband is in the army, so I called him to see if he knew anything. He said it would be very late when he came home that night because they had to secure the base. And indeed it was very late when he came home. I don't think I have ever hugged and kissed my family as much as I did that day. My mom and dad had left early that morning from my home to return to their home in Alabama. They don't listen to the radio when they are traveling and have no cell phone. It seemed like forever before mom called to say they had gotten home. I asked her if they had heard the news and she asked what news. I told her to turn on the tv and she did. She had no idea what had happened. We cried together on the phone for what seemed like forever. I know my story sounds very pale in comparison to what the people who lost loved ones, friends, etc. but it is my story just the same. God protect those poor souls who lost their lives and God especially be with the family members of those lost. But most of all God be with us.
