Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: On september 11th, 2001 it was an ordinary day for me. Get up....take a shower....eat breakfast and do my usual before I had to go to school. I lived with my grandparents at the time, and I was just about to take a shower, but something was wrong. I can usually hear my Grandma making breakfast or doing laundry while I am getting ready for school, but it seemed like everything in the house had become silent. I walked into the living room and I saw my Grandma sitting on the couch. I will never forget the expression on her face....it was still...and pale....like she was in shock. She had her hand clinged tightly to the remote that was still facing the T.V. as if she was going to change the channel. Then I stopped and watched the news....and everything inside of me went cold. When I went to school that day....it was the most painful day that I have ever experienced. There were so many people crying and sobbing and hugging each other. It was a gloomy day and you could just feel all of everyone's pain as they walked past you in the hall....you could see it in their eyes. In 1st period out teacher had us write down on paper what we felt about what happened that morning.....and I couldn't bring myself to do it. I sat in my seat as tears streamed down my face. 9/11 was all everyone talked about for months afterwards....and I remember crying for weeks.....Our country was in tears that day and it brought sadness to everyone, not just to people and families that were literally affected by it. The one thing that did get me through those weeks and months after 9/11, was seeing on the news and hearing stories, and watching with my own eyes how everyone came together and gave their lives for others on 9/11. How everyone was a little nicer, a little more caring.....and more helping. My heart goes out to those families who lost someone on 9/11 because I could never imagine feeling what they went through, and my heart truly goes out to all those who never lost hope on that day.
