911DA Story: Story

I was only in fourth grade at the time, and so it was a very confusing time. Before I woke up on September 11, 2001 my dad had called my mom and told her about a plane crashing into the World Trade Center. So, she woke me and the rest of my family up and we all watched the news together. My Grandpa may have been on that plane if he hadn't canceled his flight at the last second. I could only imagine how sad I would have been, so I then knew how thousands of people in the world must be feeling right that second. Including my aunt, who lives in New York, (not new york city) who had a friend that was on the plane that was high jacked and crashed. Her friend called her only a very short time before the crash and told her that she loved her and that she was about to die because there were now terrorists flying the plane. My aunt couldn't believe what she was hearing. Not until it was all over the news is when she fully understood. She new her friend was dead, but that at least she got to say good bye. Even though I didn't know the person on the plane, I knew they must have been extremely scared. I know I would have been, so that just shows how brave the firefighters were for going towards the building as it was on fire. When I went to school, I learned more about the attack but i couldnt understand why somebody would kill themselves just to kill thousands of others. I remember thinking that we would have to be going to war with whoever it was that attacked us, because whoever it was deserved it.
