I sat in my car with my mother in the parking lot of her Doctor's office when we heard the news on the radio. We were in total shock. The news continued to get bad. My mother was told that her chemo was not working and that we needed to choose another method to cure her cancer. Twelve days later, my mother passed away in her sleep. The cancer did not kill her, her heart just gave out. I didn't lose anyone I knew on September 11th, but the days, weeks and months that followed I lost my mother, mother-in-law and Aunt. I can only imagine what the families who lost their loved ones on this day felt. What a great loss.
