911DA Story: Story

September 11, 2001 started like any other day. I was 11 years old and had just started 6th grade. It was the second week of school I think. I got up and my mom drove my brother and me to school around 7:45am. School started as usual. My teachers didn't tell us what was going, but it was obvious that something was wrong because all of a sudden everyone was going home "because they had doctor's appointments". My parents didn't pick me up early so I just assumed everything was alright. It wasn't until school got out that I found out exactly what was going on. My parents picked my brother and me up from school, which was really odd because they both worked until 5:00 or 6:00 most nights. I remember getting in the car and asking my Mom, "What are you doing here?" She had this look on her face, I can't even explain it, but I knew something was wrong. Then she said, "We've been attacked." On the way home she explained what had been happening, and when we got home we turned on the TV. It was so surreal watching the news and seeing what was happening. My family just sat in the living room and watched the news for the rest of the day.
