911DA Story: Story

I will never forget being on the Brooklyn Bridge when the north tower fell. It was all at once the most amazing and the most horrible spectacle I have ever witnessed. My heart and soul were pulled in several directions at once. I grew up in Tribeca, so of course I was concerned for my family and friends - but at the same time, I felt very unsafe standing in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge walkway, and had already tried and failed to get into Manhattan to find my mother and grandparents. I was worried for them, scared for myself, and in shock from trying to comprehend the sheer magnitude of the atrocity. I was so stunned by the whole event, that I was unable to even cry until I was sitting at home watching the Yankee Stadium memorial 2 weeks later.
