911DA Story: Story

I was sleeping in my bedroom when my friend's sister rushed in and woke me up. She wouldn't stop screaming. I walked groggily out into the living room. I saw the plane crash into the second tower. Cool Movie I thought...then I saw the the words CNN Live go across the screen. My jaw dropped and I fell to the floor. My Uncle was in New York on business that week, and I had no idea if he was ok. I sat and prayed for almost an hour, then picked up the phone and called my Aunt. She said he was fine. He had taken a train out of Manhattan earlier that morning. My family was one of the lucky few to have him returned home safely, and we know that. But I still grieve for those who were lost. I did not know any of them personally, but they were my brothers and sisters. They were all Americans.

Now it is one year later, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Those towers crashing...They might've won that battle, but we will win the war.

I saw something that touched my heart today...a comic strip in today's paper. It was a comic strip written in a childs shaky hand saying "God, please don't let any child grow up without a mommy or daddy again." I think that says it all.
