As I walked into the bedroom, and listened to the news that morning of Sept. 11th 2001, like I do every morning. I was aghast....in shock! Could it be true? The first plane hit, and I seriously thought the air traffic controllers had misguided a plane, then the second plane hit, and instantly I knew something had gone wrong!! I immediately called my close friend who at one time lived in New York, and who still had family there. I said to her, "Are you watching the news?" Her answer was "NO". Then turn it on I said to her, a plane has just crashed into one of the Twin Towers. Even though I was far removed from New York City, it was as if I was there! i couldn't do anything that day, except glued to the news all day and all night, and I continued to watch the t.v. non-stop for the next few days! My belief was if terrorist could hit the Twin Towers in New York and no one stopped them, anything could happen any where in our country.

This event has made us all more aware of our land that we love America, and even though others have tried to destroy us --it has united us....United we stand!!!
